This week marks the 1st Birthday for The Homeschool Nook Link Up Party! Woohoo!
That’s right, for 52 weeks we’ve had amazing bloggers stopping by to share their inspiring and helpful homeschool related blog posts. I don’t know about you all, but my homeschool has been so blessed because of all these great posts I get to read each week. How about you?
Let’s keep the ball rolling and put another year under our belt. What do you say? Keep reading for this week’s version of the Homeschool Nook Link Up Party below.
Last Week in Our Homeschool
We had a pretty busy week last week here at Roberts Academy. We kicked off the week with our annual Christmas parade that our city puts together every year. The events our little city put together every year is one of my favorite parts of life in a small town.
Sadly, I forgot to bring my good camera, so all of my pics this week are low-quality cell phone pictures. (Soon I’ll be getting a much better phone with a fantastic camera. I’m counting down the days!)
We also got one of our yearly Christmas traditions out of the way – popcorn party while watching “Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer” together as a family.
Later in the week the girls had their mid-year ceremony for American Heritage Girls. They were recognized for their hard work so far this year and were awarded the badges that they have earned so far. The older girls were able to participate in the flag ceremony and they were really excited about it.
Since Lil’ Sis is a Pathfinder (the youngest of the troops), she received her Pathfinder necklace. Instead of earning badges for her accomplishments she will earn beads to add to her necklace. Beads can be earned by performing community service, memorizing bible verses, and other activities.
She has been dying to finally be up on stage like her big sisters so it was a very exciting night, to say the least. Just look at how she looks up to Moe in this picture. She absolutely adores her big sisters and wants to be just like them.
In our morning gathering last week we began reading Jotham’s Journey for this year’s advent. The girls really seem to like the story and it’s helped us get into the real spirit of the holiday season too.

Do You Love Lapbooks?
I’m becoming a lapbook junkie! My kids love having a fun project to put together, and I love that I can teach them a variety of subjects in a fun way that isn’t too messy and cluttered! That is why I love A Journey Through Learning’s lapbooks so much!
I teach my kids in bite-size lessons that are perfect for their limited attention span, and saves my nerves because it isn’t too messy! It’s the perfect amount of hands-on work for both of us!
Check out their lapbooks by clicking on the banner below. You’ll be so glad that you did!
