Monday is here again, and somehow we’ve all managed to survive the recent presidential election. As we start another week here at The Homeschool Nook Link Up Party, I invite you to check back daily to see all of the great blog posts that are shared here throughout the week. Every day we get new links that are sure to inspire you and your homeschool.
Before we get started with the party, I’d love to share how we spent the last week in our own homeschool.
Last Week in Our Homeschool
It seems like the recent presidential election had pretty much consumed the entire week for us. Actually, as I scroll through my facebook feed I can see that apparently, it’s still everyone and everything.
Between the election and Veterans Day, it was a week full of all things America. With all the busy, we decided to switch gears a bit in our homeschool this week and put the curriculum away.
On Tuesday we decided to throw an election party, which I’ll be telling you more about in the next day or so. We had a lot of fun spending time together as a family, tracking the wins. There were decorations, patriotic snacks, lapbooking, and even a family trip to the polling booth.
The girls stayed awake as long as they could with us, but KK and Lil’ Sis passed out around midnight (KK was sick.. poor thing!) and Maddie crashed on the couch around 1am. Moe refused to go to bed until after the victory speech was made, so she half slept, and half listened to President-elect Trump’s victory speech.
The day after was spent in recovery mode (I think this was the case for the entire country, but let’s not go there). The girls spent some time reading their library books and practicing their drawing skills.
We even spent some time over the weekend playing a new educational card game called Quest for Arete. I’ll be sharing more about this in the future as well.
What did your homeschool look like this week?

Do You Love Lapbooks?
I’m becoming a lapbook junkie! My kids love having a fun project to put together, and I love that I can teach them a variety of subjects in a fun way that isn’t too messy and cluttered! That is why I love A Journey Through Learning’s lapbooks so much!
I teach my kids in bite-size lessons that are perfect for their limited attention span, and saves my nerves because it isn’t too messy! It’s the perfect amount of hands-on work for both of us!
Check out their lapbooks by clicking on the banner below. You’ll be so glad that you did!
