How fun would it be to go on a homeschool field trip to Switzerland? That’d be living the dream, right? Unfortunately for many homeschoolers, traveling like that is not a possibility. There is a way to bring Switzerland to your homeschool, though. All you need is the Destination Switzerland Unit Study from CASE OF ADVENTURE.
*Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this unit study as well as compensation for my time. This review reflects my honest thoughts and opinions. I was not required to give a positive review.

Cuckoo Clock Secrets in Switzerland Mystery Novel
The novel itself explores many different swiss related topics such as:
To get an even better understanding of what this mystery novel is about, CASE OF ADVENTURE shares the following description:
Cuckoo Clock Secrets in Switzerland is Book 1 of the CASE OF ADVENTURE Travel Series. “There was a cracking noise and the crumbling of mortar. Rome put his Swiss army knife to work and carefully ran it around the edge of the stone, scraping away the plaster. He signaled to Ren, who pulled harder. Suddenly the whole stone came away from the wall. Together, they slid it out and gazed at the gaping hole that was left behind.”
Dive into adventure with Ren, Rome, Jake, Libby and Tiffany as they discover an ancient coin and a mystery connected with a cuckoo clock which takes them to the beautiful land of Switzerland. In their quest to solve the puzzle, they unearth some fascinating history and recover a lost fortune.

How We Used Adventures in Switzerland Unit Study in Our Homeschool
Every day as part of our morning gathering, we enjoy spending time together with our read aloud’s. This was the perfect opportunity to read the mystery novel, “Cuckoo Clock Secrets in Switzerland”.
After reading each chapter, we spent some time together completing as many of the missions as possible. The missions were assigned at the end of each chapter within the book.
Some of these missions introduced us to famous people such as Albert Einstein and William Tell. Others included fun activities like word search puzzles and secret codes that the kids had to decode using a cipher wheel or Morse Code.
One of the girls favorite parts of this unit study was when we watched a video about how cuckoo clocks are made. They also now believe we need to live in a Swiss chalet.
Would I Recommend This Product?
While I can definitely see the benefit of this product for homeschool geography lessons, this unit study may not be for everyone.
If you enjoy fully immersing your kids into an area of study with role play, then this unit study would be perfect for you.
If you’re more like me and limited on time and patience, however, this may not be the best option for you.
Why? It’s very involved. The novel tends to put a lot of focus into minute details, such as airplane rides. While I can see others finding this information very useful, I decided to skip over it.
Another thing buyers should know is that there could be a lot of printing and cutting involved depending on which packs you purchase. If you purchase the additional printables pack, you could spend a good chunk of time, ink, and paper on printing.
Luckily, for those who want to save as much time and money as possible, the unit study alone is plenty sufficient.
