The summer heat is brutal already this year and while I’m normally cooped up inside (being the homebody I am), this week I was out running the girls to and from their American Heritage Girls summer camp, along with other errands. The girls had a blast though, earning three new badges: Marine Biology, Emergency Preparedness, and Survival Search and Rescue.
While the big girls were away at camp, me and lil’ sis did a lot of shopping, errands, and dance parties! We had a lot of fun together to say the very least.
The weirdest part though was the quiet in the house all week. It made me realize how different our life would be if I sent my kids to school rather than keeping them home. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the quiet and calmness, but I really missed my girls (and so did little sis)!
Also, I did NOT like the early wake up calls. In fact, on the second day when I had to wake the girls up at the crack of dawn I asked them how they would feel if they had to do this every day to go to school. I think they now understand how truly blessed we all are that we get to stay home, and sleep in!
What did life look like in your homeschool last week? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
