Last Week in Our Homeschool
Last week our homeschool was spent indoors mentally preparing for the upcoming crazy of the homeschooling season. Summer is coming to a end here very soon . We even noticed the leaves starting to change today, and a piece of me died right there with them!
Since I suffer from anxiety, I really dread the cold, dead of winter months. Even though I love fall, it’s like that warning sign that the cold and lack of greenery is just around the corner!
We also spent some time at Six Flags, again. As I said, we’re trying to soak up every bit of this summer break that we can! A couple of weeks ago I shared about how the girls have been working on stepping outside of their comfort zone more. I’m happy to report there was a lot more of that this weekend, but this time from the whole family!
Embracing Our Fears
See this? This is called the Colossus. This monster is 18 stories high! The last time I road this ride was in the 8th grade and I swore up and down I’d never ever do it again.
Moe kept complaining about her fear of heights, even though I’m pretty sure the highest off the ground she’s ever been in her life is the top bunk of her bunk bed.
After trying to explain to her that she was actually just afraid of the thought of heights, I “mean mom’d” it and drug her onto the Colossus. (All 5 of us did actually, and none of us were really all that thrilled about it. When mom needs to make a point though…)

Once we got off, Moe determined that she was officially not afraid of heights (mom knows best!) and was ready to conquer her ultimate fear… Batman the Ride.

I am so proud of her! Even though I had to drag her kicking and screaming (literally.. well.. sort of..) she did face her fears!
Do you like roller coasters? If so, which is your favorite? I’d love to hear all about them!

I used to like roller coasters, but now? Not so much. I’m sure we’ll ride plenty of them when our daughter gets older, though – she loves whatever rides she can get on already!
