I am so excited, because tomorrow I will be feasting my face full of Thanksgiving Dinner number one for the year! This year we will be having two separate dinners since the hubsterdude has to work most of Thanksgiving day.
You can’t see me (thankfully) but I’m shaking my fist at all of the Black Friday shoppers! Just kidding. Sort of. I mean, I get it and all – but since the stores will be packed, I don’t get my hubs on Thanksgiving because he’ll be stocking the shelves for shoppers.
Anyways, I digress.
Since this week will be all about giving thanks, I want to take this time to let you all know how much I appreciate you here at Chaotic Bliss! Thank you for following along with my chaos, and for not judging me for my crazy. Well, at least not judging me to my face. (Ha!)
To all of my American readers, I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving this week! May your turkey (or whatever it is you eat) turn out beautifully, and may your pumpkin pies be topped with extra whipped cream!
Also, to those of you who are braving the Black Friday crowds – I pray for your safety, and for some killer deals that make the early morning frenzy worth it!
Last Week in Our Homeschool
This past week in our homeschool we spent most of our time on family work instead of individual work. We started each day off with our morning gathering, (which I plan to write an entire post about in the near future).
By “morning” gathering, what I really mean is “whatever time mom finally got herself out of bed and got the first cup of coffee in her system” gathering. Just keeping it real around here.
Anyways, we’ve been reading “Surviving Jamestown: The Adventures of Young Sam Collier” for our family reading time this week. It’s about a little boy named Sam Collier who is John Smith’s page during the colonization of Virginia. The girls have been loving the stories about their encounters with the natives and learning about how they survived during harsh sickness and lack of food.
At their American Heritage Girls meeting, Moe and her Explorers Troop learned how to make rag dolls just like the pioneers played with. They then taught Lil’ Sis’s Pathfinder troop how to make them too.
We also spent some time digging out the playdoh and seeing how creative we could get with it. Sometimes, the day just calls for a little Playdoh therapy – ya know?

Do You Love Lapbooks?
I’m becoming a lapbook junkie! My kids love having a fun project to put together, and I love that I can teach them a variety of subjects in a fun way that isn’t too messy and cluttered! That is why I love A Journey Through Learning’s lapbooks so much!

Ugh! I can not even think of Black Friday shopping… no crowds are worth the deals I might get. In fact I’m pretty much done all my shopping by now anyway. Sorry you don’t get to spend Thanksgiving with your husband. 🙁
