I’ve been sharing about how I’m using lapbooks in our homeschool for a few months now. What I haven’t done though is really give you a good in-depth look at the lapbooks I use.
More importantly, I haven’t had the opportunity to really show you just how amazing these lapbooks truly are! So today, I’m going to do just that.
*Disclaimer: I receive copies of these lapbooks for free and am compensated for my time in exchange for an honest review. I am in no way required to give a positive review. As always, my thoughts and opinions expressed in my reviews such as this are 100% authentic and true. For more information read my disclosure policy.
A Journey Through Learning Lapbooks
A Journey Through Learning Lapbooks (AJTL) is a company that was started by Paula Winget and Nancy Fileccia. These two amazing ladies (along with their equally amazing team) create beautiful lapbooks full of bite-size educational lessons, and interactive (and colorful) mini notebooks.

These lapbooks cover the main core subjects, as well as multiple non-core subjects such as art and music.
They even have lapbooks made to supplement big name homeschool curriculum and educational groups as well. Some of these big name curriculum and groups include:
- Apologia
- Jay Wile Science
- Truth Quest
- Classical Conversations
- 4H

These lapbooks are also made with various ages in mind, from preschool all the way up to 8th grade. Each lapbook is clearly marked with the appropriate ages.
While many of the lapbooks are made using 2 or 3 folders, there are even quite a few express lapbooks that are smaller, using only one folder.
How we Use Lapbooks in Our Homeschool
This year we have been using A Journey Through Learning Lapbooks as the basis of our history lessons. Next year, I have plans to use them other subjects as well.
Basically, I choose a lapbook associated with whatever topic we want to study and have the girls complete one to two booklets each day (depending on how long they take). We then find other fun activities that relate to each booklet to supplement the lesson for that day.
Sometimes there are ideas for additional activities in the lapbook, too which makes life even easier for me.

Using the lapbooks in our homeschool has simplified our learning and made our school days much more fun. I love that the girls can work on the activities independently. Once they complete their lesson for the day, we talk about what they’ve learned and supplement the lesson with fun activities.
This has also helped us enjoy each other’s company more and grow closer together as a family.
Would I Recommend These Lapbooks For You?
If you’re a lover of lapbooks, then I would answer that question with a very enthusiastic YES!
There are really no other lapbooks that compare to the quality of A Journey Through Learning. The lessons are thorough, and the booklet activities are both engaging and colorful.
Plus, these lapbooks are so affordable that it won’t put a strain on your homeschool budget.
Lapbooks can be purchased in the PDF printer-friendly version, or they will send them to you pre-printed for an extra cost.
