Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles with incorporating physical fitness into the school day? Apartment life makes it hard to get outside to play on the daily so in the past I’ve always just brushed it aside. Plus, lessons for sports are expensive when you’re dealing with more than one kid. Not this year! I’m making it my goal to incorporate some kind of physical lesson once a week.
We live within walking distance from a little park so we try to go down as often as possible to play and stretch our legs. Today we switched it up and added in our physical fitness for the day! I found and printed this cute physical fitness test printable on pinterest, grabbed my stop watch and a water bottle, and off we went! We worked on our squats, push ups, running, jumping jacks, and planks. The girls had fun with it and did very well! I’ll probably recreate this form to better fit our routine at some point but it was a perfect starting off point! Then when it gets cold this winter and we are stuck indoors we’ll switch it up and incorporate our wii fit games, and maybe even invest in one of those mini trampolines.
How do you incorporate PE into your homeschool day? Please share your ideas!
